A Low Cost Alternative for Video Editing: Davinci Resolve / by Christian Tizya

If you’re like me, you didn’t pay much attention to Blackmagic’s Da Vinci Resolve over the years, as I thought it was just a color correction tool.

Well much to my surprise it’s now a full editing studio that rivals all the top guns, and best yet. It’s free (just the standalone editor).

If you want to upgrade to the full studio it’s still reasonably priced, which also includes an impressive VFX tool called Fusion.

I’ve been mulling over something for my windows laptop, as I usually use Final Cut Pro on my Mac, but now everyone has switched to subscription cloud platforms (and pricey). Resolve is a great alternative for the cost conscious video person.
